Rene Kulitja

, born in 1958, grew up in the northern range country of South Australia and attended school there before marring and moving to her husband's country of Docker River (northern Territory). Now based in Mutijulu, she is a committed artist and active community member. A founding member of the Watjatjara Art, her dramatic representation of Ulury is painted on a Qantas jet.

A past member of the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Part Board of Joint Management, she is currently a director for the Ngaanyatjarra, Pitjantjatjara, Yankunytjatjara Women's Council. She has also been a tour guide with locally owned Anangu Tours. In 2006, Rene became the air of Maruku Arts, following in the steps of her late father, a founding member and key figure in the development of the organisation.

Rene depicts Kungkarangkalpa, the Seven Sisters dreaming, concerning a group of women being pursued by a cunning man called Nyiru who attempts to lure them into marriage with him. They travelled through a vast of amount of Australia, and her painting represents a stage in that journey.
